1 bottle (4 oz.) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped

 

1 cup sugar

 

2 tablespoons melted butter

 

3/4 cup buttermilk

 

2 cups sifted flour

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

1 cup chopped pecans

 

Beat egg add cherries stir in sugar,melted butter and milk

 

sift flour,soda, baking powder and salt together

 

add nuts

 

pour  into greased and floured loaf pan

 

bake at *350 for 1 hour or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean
