Did you ever see an old man walking down the street<\/span><\/p>\n

With a dog at his heels and dust on his feet<\/span><\/p>\n

With a gleem in his eye  and a pole on his shoulder<\/span><\/p>\n

He gets a little wiser as he grows older<\/span><\/p>\n

His earthly abode is a house by the road<\/span><\/p>\n

where he is a friend to man<\/span><\/p>\n

With a smile here and a handshake there<\/span><\/p>\n

helping whenever he can<\/span><\/p>\n

His heart is as good as gold it’s true<\/span><\/p>\n

With malis or hate toward none<\/span><\/p>\n

He’s lived his lonely long life through<\/span><\/p>\n

Now his work here on earth is done<\/span><\/p>\n

He’s had his sorrow and his strife<\/span><\/p>\n

His cross he bore, though it was great<\/span><\/p>\n

Soon he will leave this mortal life<\/span><\/p>\n

His goal; to reach that pearly gate<\/span><\/p>\n

Then he’ll work and slave no more<\/span><\/p>\n

For all his has hardships will be o’re<\/span><\/p>\n

He’ll abide in a mansion, on streets paved of gold<\/span><\/p>\n

And he’ll live forever and never grow old.<\/span><\/p>\n
