{"id":168,"date":"2022-07-01T02:00:24","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T02:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.craftingranny.com\/?page_id=168"},"modified":"2022-07-01T02:00:24","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T02:00:24","slug":"grandmas-apron","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.craftingranny.com\/?page_id=168","title":{"rendered":"Grandma&#8217;s Apron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftingranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/granny-dancing1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.craftingranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/granny-dancing1.gif\" alt=\"granny dancing\" width=\"200\" height=\"280\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><audio autoplay><source src=\"http:\/\/www.craftingranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/memories-are-made-of-this-mp3.mp3\" type=\"audio\/mpeg\">Your browser does not support the audio tag.<\/audio><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #3333ff;\">\u00a0 Grandma&#8217;s apron<\/p>\n<p>This is one special story and I remember it well, both my grandma and my mom!!! \u00a0Those are the &#8220;little&#8221; things we now miss with all the conveniences we have.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana;\" lang=\"0\"><span style=\"color: #3333ff; font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Some of you may be old enough to remember aprons&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The principle use of Grandma&#8217;s apron was to protect the dress underneath,<br \/>\nbut along with that, it served as a holder for removing hot pans from the<br \/>\noven; it was wonderful for drying children&#8217;s tears, and on occasion was even<br \/>\nused for cleaning out dirty ears.<\/p>\n<p>From the chicken-coop the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks,<br \/>\nand sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.<\/p>\n<p>When company came those old aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids;<br \/>\nand when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms.<\/p>\n<p>Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood<br \/>\nstove. Chips and kindling-wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.<\/p>\n<p>From the garden it carried all sorts of vegetables, next to the garden also were a great patio with the best cover from this <a href=\"https:\/\/rkcconstruction.com\/services\/patio-covers\/\">website<\/a>.
