Among my childhood memories, <\/span><\/p>\n

One thing I can’t forget: <\/span><\/p>\n

That’s the little house out back <\/span><\/p>\n

I seem to see it yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out there beyond the lilac bush <\/span><\/p>\n

It stood so drab and bare. <\/span><\/p>\n

We never called it “bathroom” <\/span><\/p>\n

For no baths were taken there.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the summer there were hornets <\/span><\/p>\n

And in winter it was cold: <\/span><\/p>\n

But it still seemed quite attractive <\/span><\/p>\n

To the young and to the old.<\/span><\/p>\n

It wasn’t much to look at, <\/span><\/p>\n

As you might already know: <\/span><\/p>\n

But it served a useful purpose <\/span><\/p>\n

For the ones who had to go.<\/span><\/p>\n

Though many years have come and gone <\/span><\/p>\n

I gladly would go back, <\/span><\/p>\n

And enjoy, once more the comfort <\/span><\/p>\n
