Apricot Bread

1/2 cup chopped dried apricots

 

2 cups sifted flour

 

1/2 teaspoon salt

 

1/4 cup sugar

 

1 egg, well beaten

 

1/2 cup milk

 

2 tablespoons oil

 

1/2 cup corn syrup

 

3 teaspoons baking powder

 

pour boiling water over apricots let stand 15 minutes

 

draain on paper towels

 

sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt

 

combine egg, milk, syrup, and oil

 

add to dry ingredients , fold in apricots

 

turn batter into a greased loaf pan

 

bake at *350 about 55-60 minutes
